Starting in January, a new series of academic sector community calls delivered by the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (Cyber Centre), will share cyber security knowledge focused on current active threats from the Cyber Centre’s incident response team. These sessions will include support and input from the Canadian Shared Security Operations Centre (CanSSOC), the NREN partners, and others.
CanSSOC’s contributions will include sector-specific intelligence based on intelligence gathered from recent activity within the sector and across CanSSOC members.
The first call will be held on Feb. 2, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. EST. To participate, please sign up here and CanSSOC will share the information with the Cyber Centre for registration. Connection details for the calls will be emailed to all registrants.
These calls will support collaborative efforts by CanSSOC, the Cyber Centre, CUCCIO and CANARIE to support the development of Canada’s academic cyber security community, leveraging the extensive work done by CUCCIO in this space to date.
Initially, the calls will be scheduled every two weeks and available to all university, college, polytechnique and Collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEPs) IT community members. In future, the organizers and partners may investigate how to segment the sector in the future if necessary, to support the ongoing collaboration between all parties.
If you have questions or would like more information about these community calls, please send us an email.
