The Research and Education Networks Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) is presenting a virtual event in partnership with CanSSOC and Canada’s National Research and Education Network (NREN) to help Canadian institutions better prepare for the current threat environment.ssss
With increased pandemic-related operational threats and research-targeted cyber attacks, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) face more threats from more sources than ever before. In addition, the blended nature of today’s threats may mean that physical incidents impact an institution’s cyber threat response or vice versa.
The 2021 REN-ISAC Blended Threat Workshop Series presents a hands-on, ransomware-focused scenario with a realistic blend of cyber and physical effects on a fictional university.
2021 REN-ISAC Blended Threat Workshop
Hosted by CanSSOC and Canada’s NREN
Monday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 4
1pm – 3:30 pm ET
To receive the link for registration for this event, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Registration Deadline Extended*: Sunday, May 02 – 6pm ET
Because the workshops use an enterprise approach, all higher education professionals are welcome to attend. We expect and encourage exercise participants to represent a wide variety of subject areas including institutional leadership, physical security, cybersecurity, emergency management, IT, administration, facilities, legal, and student affairs.
The workshop allows participation in two modes: Participant or Observer. If you wish to be active in the workshop at any point, select “Participant.” For those wishing to listen, select “Observer.”
Note: There are a limited number of Participant spots available. These spots will be allocated to interested individuals within the Canadian post-secondary-institution sector on a first come first serve basis across the country.
